Am i right in thinking that an VTR1000 SP01 is the same bike as a RVT1000 RC51? They both look the same, same engine, same fairing shapes.

I'm assuming it's because one is the american version of the bike. Why does it need to be called something different there? The same is done with quite a few bikes (I know for one that ZZRs are called ZX6s over there). Plus, why do they have different colour schemes? Personally I prefer the colour schemes for the RC51 to the SP01.

Why why why?

It is the same bike, except for the black frame on later models of RC51.

Why RVT? Maybe something to do with differentiating it with the VTR1000 Firehawk (Firestorm here).

Or maybe Racing V-Twin might sound better to the Mercans...although they still use the CBR name...Rolling Eyes

Or something...
