Was such a nice day I thought I'd take my bike apart instead of riding it. Cleaned the front caliper up and unseized the pistons, new pads, fluid etc.

Oh my god! Shocked I am bouncing round halls at the mo. Brakes are unbelievably sharp now. Couldn't stoppie before now it's a piece of piss. Everyone thinks I've gone mad cos I'm smilling and jumping around everywhere.

Feel a bit sorry for my rear suspension though. Anyway of not making it smack down like it does?

Random thread but I'm well happy with the bike now. Very Happy Very Happy

Try letting the front break out very slowly, make sure you have enough balance and let it slowly drop instead of going up on the front wheel, reaching the point were you loose balance and dropping.

Keep it smooth, Steve.

try doing them at higher speed. Brake how you would normally do to stop sharply, and then just apply abit more gently until it comes up. Then slowly release back out BEFORE you stop. Also gently standing on the pegs as it comes down helps. Dont just whack it on hard as you come to a stop at about 5 mph as yes the back will come up, but as you note, it will come down like a cunt.

But in this weather why are you doing it at all. Wait until its abit warmer/dryer. Roads are horrid.
