I don't know if anyone seen it or if it was only shown in Scotland but the program was good. Traffic Cops?

Funny how the copper let the Elise driver go with a warning only even though he nearly banjo'd the cop car on a bend but he gives the biker a ticket for overtaking on double white lines.... Confused

Biker didn't do himself any favours thought...

It was on Wednesday night down here. That Lotus driver was crazy and could not handle that car! He got just a warning, crazy. Silly overtaking manoveure by that biker though over double white lines.

That copper seemed alright though, he seemed more into educating people rather than booking them. Confused

to be fair to the biker, he said that AFTER he got ticket/3 points, if i think of myself in that situation, if id said sorry id made a mistake etc and i still got my ticket id have given the copper a gobfull aswell if i was in a car or bike, he'd got his ticket he had nowt more to lose, i bet he was boiling up inside! 3 point for double whites is a harsh 3 points in my eyes, having said that the copper should have made him more aware that he did it on a bend then he wouldnt have felt so hard done by!!

I got to disagree and say that copper was wrong. I watched the program and couldn't believe he only booked the biker (fair enough the guy crossed double white lines book him I say, iam not saying he was crap just cause he booked the biker fair he was right to do so) but the guy in the Elise should well have been done, he was racing the guy in the bike that went round the corner before him and didn't loose control cause he went to fast by accident, he lost control because he was deliberately taking that corner wide at speed, he was across the white lines (infact almost completely over them) and only lost it because he saw the car (just so happened to be a police car) coming the other way and had to pull it back into his side of the road, backing of the power thus loosing control, wa*ker, book him.

Also the little ned that went off the road at the end, book him for dangerous driving and having an illegal tyre, PMSL at the cop saying "if this car was on the road id do you for having 2 bold tyres" why not book him ohh because the cars lodged in a field well let you off Rolling Eyes , if he thinks that's what caused the accident, at least do him for the tyres.

These two situations with the Elise and the ned, could have resulted in someone getting killed, and normally the poor innocent bystander coming the other way abiding by the lay, pisses me off.

I was thinking the same too, the Duke came round fine but the Elise driver was waaaay gone! The biker only really endangered himself. I did pick up he was cheeky AFTER he got the ticket but even then, it's like footballers arguing with the ref, they ain't going to change there minds. And I don't think the guy had ever heard of protective gear!

I saw it, and to be honest I think the bloke on the bike failed the attitude test before he'd even taken his lid off. He could have 'got off' the same as everyone else, but he was an arse, so he got the points.

Was up at the cat and fiddle today. In the pub there's a sign about all the accidents in the last year or so. Didn't read it too carefully but I feel sure at least two involved a bike overtaking, and hitting an oncoming biker. Wouldn't be best impressed myself if someone came into my lane and hit me head on Thumbs Up .

Didn't like the cat and fiddle much myself, too busy and full of people trying to go faster than they can handle. That's what it looked like anyway. Found one of the roads just off the cat and fiddle (riding from the pub towards buxton, it's a right turn) to be pretty good with a nice long straight for trying top speed.

Good day overall, just felt too pressured by people trying to go that little bit quicker.

I seen it too. I think it was a wee bit unfair that the guy in the lotus (must have been doing over 50 at that corner) swerved half way into the other lane, and almost hits the police car and gets a warning?! Whereas the biker overtook the car, ok it was made obvious that he didnt check his mirrors, but as he said he had only got home from work and was taking a 30 minute cruise, and he got a ticket?! Does that make sense to anyone else?

Half-way into the other lane is rather an exaggeration IMHO.


The difference was: the biker intentionally broke the law by crossing the solid line, and made it worse by not making any rear observation worth the name - not spotting a jam-sandwich driving along behind him - and by whinging at the police officer.

Compare that with the car driver who unintentionally went over the centre-line (and not so far as to "take out" any biker coming the other way - a motorcyclist should be over to the left on a right-hander for just such a reason, rather than hugging the centre-line!) The driver also knew he had done wrong and was contrite too.

Fair treatment of both, and good use of discretion in my opinion.

The guy in the elise was over the line because he was intentionally talking that corner to fast racing the pack of bikes around him, the only reason he swerved/lost the back end was he saw the car coming the other way when the corner opened and tried to tuck back into his own lane, if you saw the slow motion the second time they played the clip the elise actually entered the corner sitting half-way over the white lines Mad he was delibratly using all the road.

As ive already said dont want it to sound like I have a gripe about the biker being done, he done wrong and deserved to get booked, but so did the other 2 car drivers.

Its one of the things that p*ss me of the most about the current policing system theres no consistency, its a case of if your face dont fit or who u know, it should be one strick rule for all if you do something wrong then hold you hands up and take the punishment.

Was he deliberately using all the road or was he already unintentionally running wide when he came into camera-shot halfway round the corner? That was what I thought from the comments made in the programme - could be wrong though.

Yes, he was intentionally driving fast (not necessarily speeding though - probably was, but we don't know) but he seemingly didn't cross the solid line on purpose, unlike the biker - that was my point.

Also, the police officer didn't see the car move over the line, unlike the bike - he saw the rider deliberately cross the line Neutral
