Not actually suggesting any excursions, so thought this would go in general:

I know I'm a northerner, but fancied having a long day out with some camping and beer swilling of an evening. I've already found out that Tan Hill does camping for only a quid a night.

Is there anywhere else anyone could recommend? Somewhere Northumberland/Borders area would be good. Idea

Not sure but I'd be interested in this for sure. Will have a little look out for places on my travels though.

I imagine most camp site are seasonal?

Personally my vote is for just finding anywhere that you can physically camp on and doing it there Laughing Whos going to stop you, assuming youre not causing a problem!

Camping sounds good but I would suggest heading west to the lake district area to do it, and in good weather id imagine?

It seems that most open up early march, so there's a bit about.

I don't mind the weather. I suppose that's part of being British isn't it? Poop weather Rolling Eyes
