Anyone got any advice on security chains and ground anchors? Know any good ones?

I don't have a garage, so need a good, strong way of securing my bike. Most chains I've ever seen can be got through quickly with bolt cutters or angle grinders.

U-locks I believe can be sprung easily with car jacks. I don't like u-locks anyway, all the ones I've had have failed in the first few months when the locks jammed up - I hate those tubular keys.

Does anyone know of a theft attempt where the thieves were not able to cut the security chain?

Just what do you do to stop a stored-outside bike from being nicked?

If they are serious and they want your bike you will NOT stop them!

However, the best you can do is fit security devices as a deterrent, it will depend really where you are going to leave it and what the area is like.

fitting multiple security devices seems to be a popular route, so a chain, or two, and a disk lock and a U lock, it just makes it too much trouble, you could also consider fitting a cheap alarm, it won't be insurance approved but it will make a noise and attract attention if they are not put off by your security devices.
