Well mine arrived this morning.

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7962305885&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

Has anyone actually fully wired one up? I know Kasandrich has done 2, but they are Cheetah ones, and this is even cheaper than the normal cheap ebay ones.

I havn't had the courage to wire up the imobiliser bit, and the remote start. I'm not sure I trust a £30 black box made in taiwan to be connected to my ignition and not break something/stop working when I need it.

At the moment I've just hooked it up to the battery, the indicators and the siren. So it's just a shock sensor with flashing indicators, which is fine by me...

But do I want to hack up the wires from my main switch? Do I want to leave this box in charge of my bike?

On the wiring diagram it also wants me to add a wire to the main switch, one of them I can understand, I've looked very closely at my bikes wiring diagram, and it needs you to cut the live wire coming out of the main switch, and re-route it through the magic black box.

But there's another wire out of the main switch that it wants control of, and I don't really understand why.

Any of you eager enough to snoop around my ebay account will also notice I bought a datatool neckstrap Wink no-one will ever suspect my alarm isn't crap!

How many times are you really going to use remote start up/remote shut down anyway...

Other than that, the alarm is bloody good the way it's hooked up ATM. It's very loud, and very sensative, although there's an option to change the sensitivity. It also gives you warning beeps before it sets the full alarm off. My chav-repellant.

As it has been said previously how will the remote start work?

How is it going to give the bike some choke or a little bit of throttle. As i have never been able to start my bike just with the electric start button.

My choke I can leave on when I leave the bike, I don't need to give my bike any throttle.

and if the day isn't completely washed out or freezing my bike will normally start completely off the button.

I have one like that, and i find it all superb! I havent hooked up the immobilizer, but the remote start i just leave me choke on, start up the bike while inside, gear up engines warm and off i go. I have done mine though so that it does need the keys in the ignition otherwise the altinater isnt on and the battery goes flat quite shortly, also they have a kill switch so if someone starts riding your bike, hit the button, and bang stops dead and alarm goes off. Also i dropped my bike down the road at 110mph, the box still works, its been keept outside all though winter, box still works. Worth every bit i spend on it, and the remote start is the coolist gizmo ever Very Happy

Nice to know skyline, I'll probably hook it up fully in due course.

Very happy with it ATM though.

How hard was it to wire?

In the full ness of time id like to fit it fully, but just a simple shock sensor would be lovely. Altho dont you need a trickle charger if you have an alarm fitted?

To be honnest, I wouldnt do it. My bike had a second immobiliser (one that came with the Sol-alarm) and when the battery got quite flat, it wouldnt even kick start as there was not enough power in the battery to deactivate the immobiliser!

Make sure you tape your alarm wires to the rest of your wireing loom so they cant turn the sieren off easily. And really hide the alarm box, and attatch it to the frame well...

Carry a disk lock or chain.

At the end of the day, if they really want it, They will get it regardless to the security measures.

Ideally id like one of those 'get back you bastards, ill brake your legs' alarms off phoenix nights Thumbs Up

Just want to hack off any drunk people sitting on it.

I wouldnt wire up the immobiliser tbh, or evven make too much effort with it. Where im going to put it requires about 10 minutes and lots of fucking about with sockets (too get off TWO bolts) to get at. So they can go for it.

Yes. Optimate / Trickle chargers are needed with alarms.

Me and my dad share the Optimate. One night each! Laughing

If you just want to fit is as a shock sensor with no imobiliser/remote start it's very very simple.

A wire to the +ve of each indicator (2 wires, not 4) a wire to the +ve of the battery, and a wire to the frame.

Bingo, and it works really well.
