My suzuki GSXR600 K1 is showing F1 on the screen, sometimes when i turn it on.

Please help!!

Means it's an F1 motorbike. Laughing

Kidding, it is the F.I. warming light. Fuel injection. Something might be up with the F.I. system.

Does the light turn off afterwards? Bike run ok? Does it do it all the time?

it comes on occaissionally.

When it does and i turn the kill swicth on and off its goes away

Take it to a dealer is my advice.

My bike has a little 'engine' warning light that does the same job as the 'FI' indicator on the Gixxer. You have to plug a diagnostic device into the bike to see what the problem is... luckily I have a clone of the Triumph diagnostic software on my laptop, and so can diagnose and clear any errors.

The last error that I had was "Ignition turned on whilst clocks disconnected" on the TT600, so its not necessarily serious, but its worth taking it to a dealer anyway IMO.

The diagnositc device on Suzuki's is fairly easy to make yourself.

You're looking for the dealer coupler which on my TL1000R was under the left hand side of the subframe and you just had to remove the pillion seat or seat hump.

Rather than buying an actual diagnostic device to plug it into or plugging your laptop into it, you can just put a paperclip to short two of the connectors together. Smile

Make sure you do this without the paperclip touching the frame!!

I have attached the relevant pages from the workshop manual which details what all the different codes given mean.
