Closing the throttle should be your first action then braking follows quickly after. With experience you should have changed into a lower gear as you approach an area where you might experience a hazard.
If the engine starts to shudder as you are breaking, change down a gear and let the clutch out again, repeat as appropriate. In an emergency, this is not essential, the engine can stall-out if necessary. Only pull and hold the clutch in immediatley before you come to a complete halt, anything else means you are coasting which does nothing for the speed of braking or your control of the bike.
If I do an emergency stop, the bike remains in the gear I was in when I first started to brake and I have to shift down through the box whilst stationary to get it into first to move off again. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. Let it roll on the natural engine speed pulling your clutch in makes you have less control over the bike and your braking capabilaties you only need to pull the clutch in when you hit about 6/7 mph or incase you have to do an emergency brake so that your engine does not stall. ____________________ KeNNy 100cc peugot speedfight 125cc Honda NSR125R 650cc suzuki SV650R 125cc suzuki GZ125 600cc yamaha YZF-R6 |
