After selling my Thundercat I am looking for a naked bike. Like the look of the Hornet and my local dealer has got a brand new one for £4400 but it is the 2004 model. I know the 2005 model is to be released soon with some cosmetic changes etc but the price is a good grand more.

The choice is either get an older bike or get a brand new Hornet but should I wait for the 05 model?

Choices, choices!

There is a good review of the '05 Hornet in T.W.O at the moment, they think it is a great improvement but they still haven't improved the tank range. Tell ya what though if you got an '05 Hornet in that orange I would V jealous. Thumbs Up

05 hornet is very nice, but i also like the angular styling of the 03/04 bikes, although i have heard they arnt quite as powerfull al the older bikes, and the new 05 bikes i ment to have slightly less power again.
USD forks and nice little fairing are cool, but the front end is a little stiffer than before but will still need stronger springs if you are going to push it.
Thats a very good price for a new bike even if it is the old style. See what you can get with it. Alarm, Hugger and R&G crash protectors are a must.
One thing to say there will be very few after market bits and bobs for the new model, stuff for teh 03/04 bikes is just starting to filter through to the level and quality of the stuff you can get for the pre 03 bikes.
