oil pump on speedfight 1 2000 model??help!!

as some people know about all the problems about my scooter, it was the crank that had seized an it needed a new 1, £180 an now my 'mechanic' (the mechanic that takes 2 months to fit reed valves an new piston rings lol) says the oil pump has gone


n e way. he sent me to go an look for a oil pump from a breakers, i found 1 but it was a cable operated one. in the haynes manual it says models b4 2000 have the cable operated one but models after that are the other type, but mines a 2000 so which one would it be?? would it make a difference if he fitted the cable one but the old one was the other type???
