I used to hate motorbikes as a little kid cos i always thought, oh one crash and your dead whats the point. Rolling Eyes

But as the years went by and i was in my late teens i used my bicycle to go everywhere and i mean everywhere. Cool
Im talking riding the bicycle from Dulwich to hyde park to richmond park, there was nowhere i couldnt go on the bicycle!! Shocked

Then when i started uni i thought, Hmmm, it would be so nice if i didnt have to peddle all the time, so used my student loan and got my first moped got fed up with it after two weeks and bought an aprilla RS125.

Now i think that if i didnt cycle everywhere i would be just another one of those people in a box with four wheels not caring about anyone else, but due to my history with cycling on the road and all the accidents i had cycling, this i think has made me a better rider, more considerate to other road users and prevented me from motorbike accidents, touch wood!

Now im 24, by the time im 40 i hope to have my own superbike racing team! Twisted Evil

Now i seriously could just about survive with out a girl in my life (i think but am not willing to experience that) but i would die if i did not have a motorbike of some sort. Confused

Just wondering what got you lot into motor bikes & why?

Just because being on a knife edge of death and feeling that adrenaline rush, even on a ped through the country lanes is a thrill I am willing to risk my life for. Smile

The fact I am too lazy to cycle.

so motorcycle is the lazy boys push bike.

I really enjoy being part of the community, like nipping into town see another biker and you get the nod. makes me feel like I belong.

My freinds dad took me to Brands Hatch for the day, HE used to be a marshal there so we had full pits access. He explained racing to me, and we watched for hours. Then he said he knew where I could get a cheap/free bike, so I got hold of an SR125 which I project re-built, and got used things whith.. (got bored after a week)

Then went into varius MX bikes, and built an MX track which I still ride to practice slides, wheelies, jumps, or jsut to scare myself properly..

Then there was a long riding gap.. just many bike projects.

I do still race the MX bike a bit, but less nowadays as I have the ZXR to work on, and tests comming up.

Also looking forward to a run at Brands Hatch on a ZX9R track bike this summer Smile

The internet got me into bikes.

Didnt know anything about them really then one day I found a video of a Hayabusa doing 0-200mph or something silly and I looked it up on the Suzuki website.

Downloaded a load more videos, read a few forums, gradually got more interested. After about 6 months I started my lessons after negotiating free tuition in exchange for doing a website for someone, and passed about a year after first watching the Busa video Razz

Got a pillion on a scrambler when I was 11, pillion on a shit hot big red sportsbike when I was 12, then a mad 11pm ride on a trailie in the snow and ice, then a bit of a deathwish pillion on my cousins-in-laws bike at my Grans funeral. I was 24, it took me till 33 to get my butt in gear and do my cbt.

I think its the way my body goes into shock before a ride and the feeling of achievement when I get back.
