Im trying to fit a tail tidy to my GSX-R 750K5. Ive bought a set of motrax mini indicators as the tail tidy will not accomodate my original indicators. Fittiing the tail tidy is easy enough but i now have to snip and change the connections on my bike to fit the new replacement indicators. Problem is i cannot find any female connectors to suit the male connectors on these indicators. I even went and bought a electrical connector kit - which contains a full assortment - and still no joy! Am i missing something? all advice / help appreciated please.

Cant you just change the male connectors on your indicators to fit the female ones you have?

no because the female ones on my gixer are block type connectors - real weird looking things

Let me guess... block connectors on the bike and bullet connectors on the indicators?

You can get connectors to fit, mine are blue and came from the local car parts shop. Or you can cut off the bullets and fit whatever came with your connector kit instead (maybe spade connectors?). Or you could just splice and heatshrink them. Thumbs Up

Block connectors on the bike and bullets on the indicators - thats exactly it. Problem is cant find any female connectors to match those on the indicators. Ive got all those various red & blue ones that you can buy in halfords etc...but they all seem too big!
im not really that handy with wiring etc..so dont really want to go chopping around with the wiring on a brand new bike.

Right, here's what you do:

You leave the block connectors on the bike alone, but cut off the female connectors from your old indicators and make a connection a bit further up the wire with whatever's in your kit. Means you keep the block connector for future removal too, and can seal whatever new connection you make further up.

And, if you fuck up, you're only fucking up on the indicator end, not the bike end. Smile Also means you can easily take them inside to work on the joins, rather than fiddling around trying to get to the wires in situ.

(Had exactly the same problem on my CBR).

If you have a look in the Workshop forum, in the sticky post at the top, Stinkwheel's posted a guide to joining wires and everything. Thumbs Up
