Had a new genuine exhaust fitted to my CB250 t-reg, it has a drilled hole in the balance pipe. I found this out when I started up the bike a couple of days after it was fitted. I had a look at my other CB250 and it doesn't have the hole.

Normally there are holes in Honda exhausts but having one on the balance pipe is rather odd.

The bike is noisy when I start up and gets quiet when it's warmed up.

Presumably a water drain hole. Is the balance pipe the lowest part of the system?
