Just like to inform you guys that i passed my test today with 2 minors. Thumbs Up

Was a nice day for a ride and i guess the examiner liked me. My instructor was saying how my personality and pratting about would help ease the exam pressure and it kinda did.

I had a different instructor this morning, whom i knew personally as i had him on my CBT and my mate passed under his wing. The other day i had a pedantic perfectionist Ex copper who basically drilled us into riding like robots- which sucked. This morning was a different matter - we were told otherwise to ride naturally, using mirrors instead of rear checks for minor things such as lane positioning and were told on how the examiner finds it hillarious when you do a full lifesaver just to change position in one lane.

OH CLAUD - i fuckin saw you going down the A5 near West Hendon whilst i was on my test - i was taking a right turn and i saw some nobend on a J reg Gullarm with a shiny silver Arai and a massive backpack and immediately thought - Claud (engine noise gave it away too). Were you heading back to bournemouth? I got a bit excited and had i not been doing my exam, i'da switched lanes to chase you down the staples cnr flyover!!! Very Happy Very Happy

Anyway, 2 minors were for the late observation before turning to do the emergency stop and for when doing the lifesaver, i didn't look too far back. Ironically mr Pedantic Instructor told me NOT TO crank my neck around and to use my peripheral vision.

So, who fancies going 2 up with me - my bike's shit slow already so it won't make any difference whether or not i have a pillion!

Lifesavers are to check the blind spot between your peripheral vision while looking ahead and the rear view through the mirrors. It should only take a slight movement of the head.

Anyway well done mate, as for pillions I'd get a few months in first. Nothing worse than dropping it two up.

Yeh man - the examiner guy, Mark at the Grahame Park test centre (opposite the peel training centre) seems a reasonable chap. So i WOULD personally recommend doing your training at Rex Judd's training school purely because 2 of my friends have passed from there first time, i myself have been there, and the instructors are all very cool and can educate you in how your ride in different yet effective ways. I forgot to mention - my arse is uber numb after having my dad on the back. He said that i rode smoothly, but i felt that on a few occasions, i could have done with more braking distance.

GET YOUR TEST DONE ASAP BEFORE SUMMER COMES!!!

Sadie, the instructor on the first day was Simon (surname) - rides around on a pan euro (red) and likes sailing Confused . I guess 2 WAS a target - seems that it's a reasonable compromise between riding as if there's no examiner there and riding as trained and instructed by the instructors. Got them for observation. Funnily enuff, the last one was when i was entering the car park of the test centre and first one caused by a learner driver reversing around a corner when i was about to turn around the block anticipating the emergency stop.

1 less minor hehehehe. Oh, before you slag off women riders, the person before me (also trained on the same day with me) got a perfect sheet. She was on a scoot and it was her second time nonetheless, but it was pretty impressive.

good effort mate, well done Mr. Green Thumbs Up

i know those really pedantic types, had one for my test in pinner, right arse, and put me right on edge, cos he talked like a robot, i'd try and be all warm and friendly before and after, and you would just get a cold as ice reaction

luckily the retest, i got the same bloke (d0h) but exactly the same route, so knew the places i would screw up, and didnt Smile

but yeh, its all good from here Thumbs Up

Had my first razz today down the motorways - it HIT 80mph (indicated so it'll be about 69-75mphish) and was well happy.

Me, Claud and Ric went for a ride from the usual BP Park Street garage down to the Ace, then got bored so decided to go to Box Hill!! Thumbs Up

Ace was cool, there was a sidecar meet - saw a busa with a sidecar which i thought was amazing, seeing that it had wheelchair access. Imagine if the latch opened and the guy got blasted out!

Box Hill = Fuckin awesome - only realised that in order to fit in, i had to dress like a mighty morphin power ranger and have a bike of at least a 600cc displacement.

Funny or harsh moment was when we saw that HD rider junk his custom while trying to negociate his car park. Too much power too soon whilst cranked over - poor man shattered his pride more than anything else as up to 200 bikes looked around - many were quick to hand Thumbs Up

Nearly had a fatal accident on the M25 which Claud and Ric tried to point out. My bag was caught under the wheel and were frantically trying to warn me. Had i not taken off the slip road, the bag would have eroded through, got caught on the chain and spat me off at 70mph under an arctic! WOW. Motorway riding IS boring especially on a 125 which struggles to top 80mph

Anyway, been a fun day - wicked and amusing ride with Ric and Claud and be more than willing to do it again - albeit on a 400+ machine!

Box hill was good, better than expected, really should have taken some fotos

im shotgunning black power ranger by the way, i just need a bigger bikes so i can ride in striaght lines only and pose like a tart!!!

haha

Got well nervy drivin out of box hill cos that guy stacked it

oh yer and id have failed titz for leavin his indicator on too Smile

after all mine and clauds monkey signlangauage titot stilllllllll ignored us and trundled on untill he noticed was mildly amusing appart from the danger aspect

then i didnt make the pull off at the slip and had to speed off into the distance jus to sit in the wank 40MPH limit on the m25

i amused myself, by drivin past people at slow speeds doin stupid stuff and pullin a face at a kid

see titz a 400 aint all that fun on the 25 if its speed cams 40 limit!!

Tricky, best way to pass is to be natural and basically don't agree to everything the instructor says. I was told two completely different things with regards to observations by the two instructors i had. I basically followed the one which appeared and felt more natural -use your instincts. To improve your observation skills, tip is when you're pottering about during the test, always look down drives and junctions as you approach them, bearing in mind to stay in the middle of the lane. Judge in ample time whether a particular vehicle would do something stupid or not and make a pre-emptive decision to move - i.e. when bus was pulling out or broken down vehicle at junction. Other than that, if you're a compitent rider, just train up on your observation is all i can recommend you. Go into the newbies section and ask more questions about what to expect from the test as the more you ask, the more replies you get, consequently you'd get a broader flavour as to what to expect in your test. (I'd recommend using a CG to do the test as an NSR would make it a hyper pain in the arse to do a U-turn particularly if the examiner decides to take you down a pretty narrow street).

Wildcat, whereabouts in Edgware do you live and what bike do you ride? You'd probably see me bumming about at rex-judd's training school once in a while to have a piss about with the instructors. I live just around the corner from juddies down camrose avenue.
