Went out this morning to start the bike and it wouldnt turn over. So i hooked it up to my charger (which has worked before) and let it charge for a while. When I went back out the charger had went from the "Charging" L.E.D. to "Ready and Maintaining" but when I tried to start it it only turned over a couple of times and died without firing up!

Any Ideas??

I've got a funny feeling I might need a new battery Sad

If you've got access to an Oximiser/Optimser they might be worth a go, can recover some batteries. Sounds like you need a new one though.

Not tried to bump it? If you can, take her out for a spin for 30-40 mins and it might give it enough charge to fire the bike up. Done this last year with my bike....

Hi

Does sound like you need a new battery.

Is the charger you have a large car one? If so I think some modern bike batteries (sealed and gel type) do not like these. Certainly seems to be what killed the battery in my Bandit.

Optimates are between £30 and £50 depending on how good a deal you get. Without going to a show you will be doing well the get them for much under £40.

All the best

Keith

Just don't be tempted by the cheaper Oxford Oximiser as they are SHITE.. get a proper optimate, £40 from most shops, and on ebay including postage and they work a treat Thumbs Up

An Oximiser worked fine on my vfr400 battery, and my dads CBR600.
