Was watching TV earlier today and saw an advert on BBC2 saying that they were covering the Moto GP rounds this year.

Fantastic! I don't have Eurosport and thought that was the only channel covering Moto GP this year. I had resigned myself to not seeing any rounds this year.

Here is a link to the coverage shedule from the BBC.

You lot probably already know this but I thought I'd post it up in case there's any other BCF members who thought the same thing Thumbs Up

Fair play to BBC for hyping it up, as they never used to do that. But it's crap that they gave both Superbike slots to Channel 4, as C4 like to broadcast them at anti-social times, eg. 7:30am this morning for BSB at Brands (at least I was actually there on Monday) and 2:15am for the Worlds! What's going on with that?!

The BBC needed some kind of motorsport - Am I right in thinking the Moto GP is possibly the only one they have rights to anymore?

Well done BBC, in my opinion the GP will have more veiwers than F1, lets face it, it's far more interesting and exciting than F1 Very Happy

They'll be pants at coverage, like they have been with BSB and World in the past, don't show the races live, plus if theres anything else happening like cricket or rugby or footy, they'll not show it at all.

Yeah, motoGp is very exciting as a lot of action is going on all the time (overtakes, crashes etc..) but this years F1 is much more exciting than last year. Ferrari are not even in the fight, whereas last years backrunners, Toyota are! Good to see the Renaults doing well too, but its going to be good. Very Happy

I agree F1 is better this year. However, I don't appreciate the lack of coverage of the second qualifying session.

It's better to watch, but I'm still not glued to the screen, yesterday I managed to cook, clean and do some work whilst watching the race.

OK fair point, but there is no mention of 125 or 250 there. These are part and parcel of the Moto GP group, much like BSB and WSB has their "minor leagues", which will probably never get showed by terrestrial tv

Yeah you are right, but my main interest is the GP. It would be nice to get the 125s and 250s but as they say up north "Owt is better than nowt".

Really gonna love Sundays even more now. Get up early, thrash the arse off my bike, come home and watch the moto GP while having lunch and some beers. Then a BBQ in the evening. Ideal Sunday Thumbs Up

OK, ok I'm sorry for being pedantic, but I do enjoy the other races, never liked formula 1, prefer Indy more.

Bahrain was a dreadfully dreary track, and most of that race was pretty pants, even though plenty of cars had brake failure. Everywhere was just sand coloured tarmac, with absolutely no scenery and a rubbish track format. I don't care for these new circuits at all.

So is everyone expecting a Rossi victory? Or do you think we could have an F1 style situation on our hands were it is far less predictable than the year before?

I got a feeling that this year could be a little different. Though right now I couldn't pick anybody to win it other than him.

Mind you, BBC coverage was pretty OK last year on MotoGP seeing that it had no ads, but there's nothing better than hearing Toby Moody, Julian Ryder and Randy Mamola commenting on the proceedings as it's all so exciting, kinda like when Murray Walker used to do the commentary for the F1 (weren't around when he did it for bikes). There's that added drama, and you get to see the ickle bikes race too which is very exciting at the least.

Well I have to say nothing can compare to Eurosport. Live qualifying on Saturday plus every race live throughout the season including 125 & 250. The only probs I have with BBC is the commentary, after hearing toby, julian and randy nothing can compare IMO. The experience and knowledge of these guys is unbelievable it really is! Well I cancelled sky because the races are being shown on bbc plus I have my Rotweiller coming soon and I have to put a side 25 quids worth of extra dog food a month lol!!!
