Anyone heard anything about this? Saw it on another forum, but no other information is available.

Triumph set to buy Indian manufacturing plant. Agreement in principle has been reached between The Eicher Group and Triumph Motorcycles for them to acquire the Royal Enfield motorcycle plant in Chennai, India. A Triumph spokesman said "not only will this give us a lower cost manufacturing base but it will also give us the opportunity to expand the world wide sales of Triumph and Royal Enfield, both long respected British motorcycle marques."

I was gonna say... My sources mentioned a 'far eastern source' was asked for venture capital so that Triumph can 'build RV's.

This was posted on the 1st of April... and did not relate specifically to enfield, but was similar enough in nature to be taken as an april fool..

I was right! Smile

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
