Ok so ive been taking bike lessons since last November mainly once every week or two until January where i just had enough and decided to call it quits for a couple of weeks. I was taking lessons with a place called black country motorcycle training and basically i chose them because i thought they would work out quicker and cheaper for me in the long run but it was just not the case.
For about 5 lessons I was on a sr125 despite me riding an rs125 for nearly two years they wanted to see my bike control and to be honest i thought fair enough and gave them the benefit of the doubt. This slightly annoyed me after 5 lessons when they kept coming out with the excuse we just want you to perfect all the little things when in reality all the little things could be perfected on ultimatley the test machine which was the er5, also after every lesson they would give me alot of negatives and maybe one or two positives...i felt like i was being used and pointed at by myself feeling quite depressed.
So finally after 5 lessons i said to them im not feeling as if iam getting anywhere with you people and they then moved me onto the er5 and booked my test date which was in mid Feb I could clearly see the worried look on their faces when they saw I wanted to switch schools, so they quickly booked my test despite the excuse they used in December that they cannot get a test date booked as the "book" is full until mid Feb.
So i take another 3 lessons and then i tell the instructor im going to take two weeks to just practise and have one last lesson on the same week the test is. I ring up a week and a half before the test and say i need a quick lesson but what do they tell me? "oh were sorry we tried to ring you 3 times to find out what was happening with you because we hadnt heard from you in a while we gave your slot to someone else." they rang me 3 times? hmm strange considering my phone is always on and my mother is always home to answer..............and forgive me but when you book MY test in front of me and say clearly that this is YOUR test date is not correct to presume that IS indeed my test date!?.........I call bulls*it. They re-booked for april 26th but they said to make sure i called to book a lesson everyweek until then lol
Anyway I decided enough is enough and decided to call Bikewise in Wolverhampton, spoke to Danny on the phone and he sorted me out booked me in for 3 lessons and test for a gobsmackingly awesome deal at £250!!!! mainly because I knew him previously . I took a gander at their bikes and they were quite new and in very very good condition unlike the rust buckets i had ridden with black country motocycle training never again is all I can say......
First lesson on the 26th march next was 4th april then a shorter 2hr one on test date today 6thApril. At the first lesson I found nothing but positive things said about my riding and if i made a mistake it was pointed out but John my instructor didnt yell/swear get annoyed but jokingly mused "Dont worry about it just remember next time "
Passed my DAS test this morning with only 4 minors absolute top job and well chuffed I really cant recommend them enough......I was nervous but John gave me some sound advice and I just breezed through I cant believe the totty up in Wolves today to! was quite distracting on the way back hehe
I think I got used quite badly with Blackcountry motorcle training and its unfortunate that im so gullible sometimes as if i hadnt rang up bikewise I probably would still be paying out hundreds for repeated lessons going over crap Ive never had a problem with to begin with
Anyway Im off to get the insurance sorted out on my zxr400, hopefully I can get the r6 insured too but I think i might need to wait till i get paid next month for that!
if any of you are interested ring Danny up and tell him that Mo sent you his way, hopefully he can set you up with a nice price.

Well done !
*shakes your hand*
Training schools can give you a pretty raw deal sometimes...it depends on how they are run (obviously).
The one I was with was run by volunteers and they made no profit at all... and sometimes, if lots of people wanted to learn that month...you had to wait for a lesson as there weren't enough volunteers to take you out.
(One reason I couldn't carry on with my own DAS).
At least I passed a test anyway.
So congrats...
and I wouldn't give your phone number out here hunny...
one of those 'totty' you talked about could be giving you a ring !!

I went with Black Country Motorcycle Training in Tipton, and found them to be great people, they made you feel comfortable, we had a good laugh. They were gutted when I failed the first time. But they gave me great advise and got me a test booked asap ____________________ Bikes owned: Aprilia RS 125 GP1 2003 (Now sold), Suzuki GSX-r600 1997 (streetfightered), https://www.bikepics.com/members/sychosis/
