Now I've been known to take a fair bit with me when camping on my bike, but this guy must have a Goldwing plus trailer. Parmesan cheese and couscous, anyone?

Toothbrush
Large bottle vodka
Winning smile

Wotcha.
I see the first thing on the list is the most important.
"MOTORCYCLE"
Yep - can't argue with that one. A motorcycle may be just the thing when motorcycle camping.
Plenty of room on top ____________________ Cheers.

I have a general rule that if I take something (other than emergency equipment) on three runs and don't use it, I leave it at home next time.
I now have some of the oddest things in my luggage setup but it works for me.
Last camping trip I took:
Manufacturers tool kit.
Big spanner for rear wheel.
Hein Gericke cable repair kit.
John bull puncture repair kit.
Head torch.
pvc tape
small WD40
Syringe and small bottle of oil for scotoiler.
map
Spare tobacco
camera
Tent.
Groundsheet.
30ft length of para-cord.
Therm-a-rest
Sleeping bag
Gas lantern. (ultra light one, 2 1/2" high)
Full gore-tex waterproofs.
Small cast iron frying pan
Jaffel iron (like a toastie machine you put in the fire)
Steel teapot.
Knife
Spoon
canteen
mug
bottle opener
Machete
Spare lighter.
2 t-shirts
Clean undies
Clean socks
Combat trousers
Thermals
Hat.
Two bottles of wine
four cans of beer
carton of fruit juice
loaf of bread
couple of canned foods
butter
cooking oil
milk
tomato puree
tea bags
salami
cheese
sugar
jam
tatties
tinfoil
sliced ham
mustard
salt.
All of that lot fits in a set of unexpanded oxford sports panniers, an ortleib dry-sack (for the tent) and a small cooler bag. I had room for a pillion if I had wanted. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |
