Loud clicking noise from front brake

I'm hearing a loud rapid clicking noise coming from the front of the bike when the front brake is applied, just wondering if anybody knows what this might be, it can only be heard over about 10 miles an hour ! It started after about the first 20 miles clocked on the bike and is still the same after 600 miles!
The bike shop seems to think it's because the bike is still running in, but I don't believe this otherwise surely the back brake would do the same.(both disks)
Any thoughts appreciated !

Yes, I get this... when I put my front disk on it clicks, and "jumps" as if its sort of sticking... it isn't, but that's what it feels like. It's all lumpy.

Once I've used it a few times it's fine - the only reason I can think of for it to do this would be brake dust/very light rust collecting around the holes on the disk, which gets rubbed off when the brake is applied?

The fact it's more noticeable if the bike was wet when put away the night before sort of supports this.

Bike and disks are now both 5 months old (disk isn't worn out or anything), and it still happens. It's not something that's worried me up until now - should it??

mine's not rust ,don't use it in the rain ,and it continues through out ride !

Check your spark plug connections as one of the HT leads could be sitting loose and so when you apply the front brake the HT lead for a moment loses the electrical connection to the spark plug. That's the exact same sound I got when I accidentally dislodged an HT lead from a spark plug after reinstalling the fuel tank. After riding a few miles I could hear a loud ticking sound from the front of the bike and realised later on that one of the HT lead was actually sitting loose.

The other possibility is that one of your spark plugs is not firing.

It might be the head bearings? put the front brake on, then push the forks down and see if you can hear any clicking/knocking noises.

Took my bike in for its first service the other day, they reckon the clicking is because it has organic brakes, not sure what that is supposed to mean , perhaps there made from a compressed cabbage or something
