You wait. Can't go wrong If you wait, If you filter they can fail you.

I heard rumours that on London tests there is a filtering element to the test, but only do it if you're asked to :|

hey, I passed nearly two month ago on my 125,

my instructor actually advised me not to filter, as the test is all about handling and being safe on the bike, and filtering i guess is one of the most dangerous or hardest things to do 'correctly'

so my answer:

...sit and wait, keep observant and remeber your road positioning when your sat at the junction, ie dont sit right up the arse of the car/bus/lorry infront.

good luck btw Thumbs Up Mr. Green

just thought...

you are paying your instructor to train you to pass....

so ask him/her

chances are they will know the examiner if they're a local examiner...

mine did, infact he stood chatting with him for 10minutes before my test began..great for my nerves Rolling Eyes

good luck

Agreed, wait.

You're not doing anything wrong if you wait. Whereas if you filter, you could breach any number of rules.

It's just 40 minutes that you have to behave in, after that it's knee down and riding it like you stole it.

As above wait as although the examiner will probably give you a minor for not filtering there are too many thing that can go wrong when filtering that will result in a fail if you do do not go in front of the furthest car sit behind it and indicate to come in

That took me a few minutes to translate into English. So you are saying that if you do filter you will fail, but if you don't you will get a minor fault? Rolling Eyes

I hit plenty of queues of traffic on my test and sat and waited my turn. Only got 1 minor for missing a rear obs on a roundabout. Have you actually sat a bike test?

filtering is a personel choice we make our selves, but when on your test DONT FILTER there is no need unless the examiner tells you to.

All the while you wait in traffick time ticks by which is less time to make a mistake, be patient wait with every one else Very Happy

hi
when i took my test set off from test center straight into 60 zone went round right hand bend ..... and then came up to stood traffic at temp light`s waited... solid line in road so no overtaking ..at this point got through these temp lights into more stood traffic now broken line in road could see well down road about 1/2 mile tail back to lights so sat in traffic kept doing checks and checking down right handside cyclelane ... kept thinking should i be filtering now was getting bit worried at this point as been in traffic well over ten minutes ...anyway passed test no prob but didn't get any minors for sitting there rest off test route was very short though as lost so much time in traffic suited me Thumbs Up
remember if in traffic leave enough room watch out for cycles/people/cars trying to cut in etc
and relax if you can it helps
cheers braddas
