Hi, On my dads' bike one of the mirrors has a few scuffs on it. Is there anyway you can tidy this up so it's not very noticeable?

Well basically my Dad found the old damaged fairing. Laughing I managed to blag my way out saying I bought a set 1 mint 1 damaged just to sell on as they were REALLY cheap. I showed him the auction in which I sold the mint fairing and he fell for it. Razz
He said he will look at the bike sometime and if there's a mark on it then I'm dead....... Shocked
Only mark i put on it Is the mirror.
I ordered a new 1 today but wondered if there's anything I can do in the meantime.

(Besides run away from home on his bike for a few days until the new mirror arrives. Laughing)

Go out to the garage and carefully lie the bike on its side. Then go into the house and really appologetically ask your dad to help you pick it up because you tried to move it with the steering lock/disc lock on, lost your balance and dropped it.

Viola, one scuffed mirror with accompanying excuse.

I feel someone should say this now, just in case you are not aware of it.

You are digging yourself a hole mate (I haven't been following the story but it sounds like quite a deep one), at some point you will fall in when you least expect it, you had best hope too many people haven't had a dump in it before you do.

I speak from experience.

That's the original thread.

Basically the scuffs are to deep to be cleaned out really, got ride of a few of them for now. I put my finger in the grease near the chain and smudged it on it. Wink Now it just looks dirty! Very Happy

As long as he doesn't realise before thursday I don't care. he is paying for my head gasket then. Razz Cool

I think that will put those white polish marks in the plastic which are a git to get rid off.

I would suggest some very fine wet and dry to smooth the scruff then some black shoe polish.
