I've started to derestrict my NSR125 but I'm having trouble drilling through the welds holding the restrictor in the exhaust. Cause the welds are not flat it's very hard to get a hold into it. Also the welds are quite big, about a cm or more, so it's gonna take me ages to do it. Anyone got any tips on how to do it or is there another easier way to get the welds off?

where is the restrictor ? if it's abour 8 inches down in the pipe , you must cut the pipe , then re-solder it after taking off the restrictor .

I used a Dremel on my wifes NSR, that and a screwdriver + hammer combo. It's quite difficult to do without damaging the restrictor beyond use. So if you want to ever re-restrict the bike take you time and be gentle.

Make sure you've got lots of drill bits before you start as you will break some when trying to drill the welds. Also you don't need to cut the pipe and re-solder it, if its a UK bike then you need to follow the guide on NSR125.com which explains it all with photos.

Not really much to suggest other than be patient with it. Thumbs Up
