It is very important that the leathers you wear fit you perfectly. It makes a big difference in their protection ability. I'd say wait untill they get them so you can try them on. If you can get them online from a place that offers a refund then you might want to try that as well.

It is worth trying all leathers on.

They work a lot better if they fit properly; you're looking for a snug fit, with no bits too lose.
If they don't fit the armour can move around in a crash and can in some cases make it worse.

Unfortunately I have an oddlyproportioned body, so it has taken a lot of trying on to find ones that vaguley fit.

I have some rather bright, cheaper end leathers only because they were the ones which fit spot on at the time of looking. Its vital you try them on to make sure you can move and so you can make sure the armour is in the correct place.

i have rst leathers, they are a very good fit (seen as my body shape is like a upside down squashed triangle!) the only problem i had was that when i wore my back protector on the inside they have burst in the zip seam. top leathers tho, not come off yet and comfy enough.

I have RST and think they are good.

Mine doesnt have a removable liner though and I find it presses against my throat when crouched right over.

Apart from that no problems whatsoever.

BTW mine are RST Dyno 2 pc zip together, £199.99.

I got a brill set, so chuffed with them, and it's amazing how much safer you feel on the bike. My take on it is to get a two piece as you can still use the jacket when your off out.
Provided they zip together well, feels as snug as a one piece.
As for size, non of the measurements I took of me were anywhere near the size of the actual items. The way I did it was go to any bike shop and try loads on, when they are new they will feel way too small and tight but thats good as they will loosen up after a bit. I got my size by trying on 5+ sets. Then went on ebay and found a nice set that wasnt too used, the ones I got where as good as new not a scratch on them, and cost me £80. Masses of padding in all the right places. Make sure you get a good brand though as have seen some cheep and nasty thin ones on ebay and they isn't going to protect you if the worst happens.
Only other tip is make sure when you try them on you don't have some big think top on, unless you plan on always having it on whenever you go out !

Good advice!

The RST leathers are pretty good Thumbs Up

I've got two sets of leathers these days and nither of them fit right because i bought them on ebay without trying them on at a shop first.

RST pro series - Way to big for me!
Dainese (forget which model) - so tight i can't reach the kick start on my SM and can't zip up the trousers after lunch and a beer. Laughing

I've just got new one piece RST.
My leather jacket was a 42/52 but I had to get a 56 suit. Try it on, it might be a big waste of money if you don't.

I tried 5 sets before I got the ones I felt most confortable in. take your boots and try them with the leathers, then sit on a chair and lean forward into a riding position. If they feel good then go for it.

I finally got a set of Arlen Ness cost a bit but then again I think my body is worth it. Thumbs Up

I was lucky enough to get a set of RST two piece that zip together of my son's neighbour. They fit a treat and come with inner jacket, back protector, knee pads and body armour plates.
It makes a surprising difference to my confidence to know that, if all else fails I have a few tens of yards to scrape off before I start on my birthday suit!
I may still enjoy riding in shorts & a tee shirt & without out a lid when its sunny (in Cyprus), but fast commuting on A & B roads in the UK is a different matter.
