My mate says there is and i say there isnt!!!!!
however some people with a GS500E with a sports kit like to call there bikes gsxr's even though they are not.
am i right or him??
Ive also added to my argument that there a common first bike but thats all, nothing special to the GS500E thats why there cheap as chips!

There is a GS500F which was introduced last year, exactly the same as a GS500e with a fairing, in the style of a GSXR.

No, the gsxr style fairing does not turn a gs500e into a gsxr!!! Thats quite laughable.....
The kits your talking about are form brazil, and look like this:

And although they DO have gsxr style letters emblazoned on the side sometimes, they dont change the fact that its a gs500e with an ancient engine  |

Hi
Think it takes more than a fairing to convert a steel framed, air cooled commuter bike into a sports bike.
However it is possible that there was a GSXR500. The USA got a model called GSXR600 several years before the UK, and some bikes sold as a 600 in the UK were sold as a 500 in the USA (the FZR600 was sold as a 500 in the USA for a while, probably because the FZ750 was a 700cc bike for a few years to avoid import tariffs, and a 600 was too close to 700cc). Never heard of a GSXR500, but it is entirely possible.
