'81 Honda CB750C Helmet Lock

I acquired myself a 1981 Honda CB750 Custom almost a month ago. One of the previous owners had done some modifications to the bike. For some reason they removed the helmet lock from the bike. I'm fortunate that they pass the lock on to the next owner which I eventaully got in the sale.

Looking at the Honda parts breakdown for the bike, Honda lists the part on the right side of the motorcycle on the seat parts breakdown. But their drawing doesn't give much of an idea where it mounts exactly on the right side of the bike. Attached is a GIF image showing the helmet lock with the seat.

I'm looking for some help from other CB750C owners who could describe where the part mounts exactly or could take a picture with a digital camera. Is there some plate it mounts to on the frame? Best I can tell with photos I found online is that its just forward of the right rear shock. But I don't see much in the way of mounting holes on that side of my bike.

If it were me I would leave it off. They are all but useless anyway and will be seized up solid within six months.

Feed your chain through the chinpiece of your helmet if you want to lock it up when you park the bike.
