You can retrict all bikes (as long as there is a kit for them). You could have a blade if you wanted, although I imagine a 33bhp 900cc would be a bag of sh1te.

Your mate wrong with the 600 thing. But I'm not sure it's worth getting more than 600 if your on the 33bhp licence.

You mean max BHP bike? 'Cos last time i checked, 33bhp was 33bhp.
But yeah, any bike can be restricted to 33bhp.
Hoestly, you won't want anything bigger than a 400cc bike, 'cos a 33bhp 600 would be soooooooooo lame

My 600 ran quite well at 33bhp. Its a hornet 600 and had a Fi internation restriction kit in it. Even managed a few track days with it 33bhp.

U can get any bike restricted providing the kit is avaliable for them or alternatively there are some companies that will mkae the kit for you.... but be half way sensible and dont go getting a 750 cc upwards bike n getting it restricted,,,, it would be like a mobility scooter Laughing

Best thing you could do is pass your test and get a 400 - 500cc bike and clock up some milage on it, a years worth would be a good start. The more milage you do on a small bike the better you will be (one would hope) when it comes to getting a bigger bike. No point slapping a 33bhp kit on a bike over 600cc.

Theoretically, any engine which requires less than 33bhp to overcome the frictional, pumping and other losses (ie needs to produce more than 33bhp to avoid stalling) can be restricted to 33bhp. Don't quote me on that though. Laughing

I had my 893cc Fireblade restricted to 33bhp for a week, in that time it killed a set of plugs so they were promptly removed. I wasn't intending to keep it restricted, simply had it done for the certificate. I wouldn't bother restricting a bike over 500cc if you're intending to keep them in.

SV650 is ok restricted
CBR 600 is allrently ok restricted

400s are generally better restricted, as a rule the closer the normal max output to 33bhp the better..

If money is no object i'd be getting a 400 and then changeing after the restriction is up, after two years chances are you will be ready for a change..

if money is no objective why dont you get an R1

i over took a R6 which was obviously restricted on 1 wheel on my moped Laughing hahhahaha

if you are going to learn to ride, dont try and act like your amazing with a sports bike etc....

jus bite the bulley and spend a few months on an old CG125 then go and get a zxr 400 baby blade or the like of, highly recomended

or theres the other path of gettin a reasonable 600cc (cbf 600, gsf 600, sv650 etc) fitting the restrictors but by the time you get home they've "fallen out"

totally up to you
