whats the best option 400's or 600's

Ive bin riding a 50cc for a year now and race 125cc. Im now coming up to my 17th b-day taking my test and want a bigger bike but not sure which to get. 400's seem to be a better option but would be difficult to find new parts for. But 600's would be a bit lackluster when resticted.

Money isnt really a problem

So what do you guys think?

Also what is the best model for each class?

Well, the newer 600s weigh about the same as most 400s anyway so I don't think restricting a 600 will make it any worse than a 400. Someone who's had one will be along soon enough though, I'm sure...

a 400cc honda bros would be your best option


no point strangling anything more powerfull to be honest

I cant see a restricted 600 being much fun, I think my 600 makes 33BHP @ 5k rpm, Maybe less. It'll still go as fast as any 33BHP bike pretty much though.

If monies no object then.... Turbo Busa!! Just remove the throttle and ride around on tickover (Hopefully it doesnt produce more at that )

But seriously, CBR600RR is sexy. I'd still recommend a 400 first though, It's a good begineers' road bike

If you're going to keep the bike at 33bhp and money isn't a problem then your best bet (IMO) would be to get something which is 33bhp full power or something closer than a 400 or 600 sports bike is, like a 250. Use that for your two years and then get something bigger when your restriction has ended.

Otherwise you'll be paying lots for the bike and insurance but it won't be any faster than lots of much cheaper options.
