Hi,

I bought an import top speed when deristricted 85mph. DONT BUY ONE!!!!
The only good thing is that I sold it for £2600 after 14 months and 8000 miles on the clock it had also been riden through the winter and was starting to look a bit tatty. (bought for £2999.00).

this is all so complicated

you say look at the imports clocks, what about the clocks? they will have KM above MPH or what?

i was goin to buy a second hand NSR but so many magazines saying that

"in experienced teens have wrecked most" really freaks me out, cos i want mine to last, if its lasts well and goes well, i see no reason to replace it

https://www.tonymoto.co.uk --this site does excellent prices, but you are saying stay away cos they are imports? is this correct?

could you give me some web links of dealers who will have NEW GENUINE UK 2002 NSR's which i can rely on, and also at a reasonable price i.e under 3K5

thanks very much

kind regards

Hi

Given the problems people have with imports, they may be a problem. Unfortunatly I just missed out (by 50p Evil or Very Mad ) on a spare parts fiche for the NSR which should have had the part numbers for the different models on it.

If you buy an import then you may as well budget on buying the parts from a breakers to fully derestrict it. Imports will generally have kmh clocks, probably (to be really legal) with a kmh sticker over the top, and also may well have a headlight that dips the wrong way. Depending on the import dealer they may have replaced these with a proper mph / kmh speedo and a UK headlight

All the best

Keith

Hi,

I bought the bike from a small trader in Bristol, they gave me the usual bullshit that it was a UK spec apart from the kph clock. When I realised that it could only do 85kph I asked them to find out why and carry out any mods required, did they, did they fuck!

Regards......Hibby
