HI ive got a bandit 600 Smile and i have just noticed a noise on the front of my bike when i brake there is a clicking noise Confused i think the head bearings r going can sum 1 tell me if this is a hard job 2 fix & how much this will cost cheers

It probably is the head bearings. At a standstill, hold the front brake on and rock the bike back and forth, you should hear/feel it then.

Expect to pay £30ish for the bearings and a couple of hours labour.

clicking ?? does the clicking noise slow down the slower you go ?? sounds more like brake prob to me ,, ie pads etc

Does it jsut click once the first time you brake? Do you reverse the bike out of your garage and use the brakes to stop it? If so it could jsut be the pads moveing forwad in the calipers, as you pushed them back when using your brakes when reversing out of the garage. If thsi is the case its nothing to worry about.

Just to throw one off the wall, make sure your chain isn't too loose and isn't smacking the swingarm. For some reason when that happened to me, it sounded as though it was something wrong with the front forks. It only happened a lot when I was braking and dropping revs.

Check the front mud guard just in case that's being hit by something, had some plasticy tape on a crack on mine that was making a sort of popping sound somehow.

cheers guys i think it is the head bearings cos it only clicks once
and it even does it whene it i rock it bck & fourth is this a easy job 2 fix 4 me 2 do my self i cant aford 2 pay sum1 2 do it for me
