Got onto my CBR125 last week, which I only bought due to being Uber reliable(not). In the first month it had a new fuel tap fitted as the current one is knackered. Now 11 months down the line, and 8,000 miles later there is a coil fault, which they say comes and goes, and I know for a fact that it is permanent.
The AA came out, and took the bike into Honda of Salisbury last thursday morning. They said that it would be checked out, and the new part(s) fitted the following day.
I caught the bus home that evening which cost £3.80. The following morning my mum added 36miles to her journey to take me to work. Call Honda and they say it wont even get looked at until next week. I swore alot, and asked about a courtesy bike, but they said no as they cannot insure younger riders. Missed work on monday, as the bus gets into work too late.(06:30 or 07:30 start)
I called again on tuesday only to be told that they have only just looked at it and ordered yet another fuel pump and the bike will not be ready until possibly thursday. They said defo next week.
Work tuesday and today and my mum still giving me lifts in the morning, and bus in the evening. So thats £11.60 + my mums petrol so far for journeys which would usually cost £5.00 all together. I also go to the gym in the evenings, which means I need food afterwards, so due to the fact I cannot make sandwiches at a bus stop it pisses me off that I have to buy them at £2.00 each.
The bust takes 1hr 20 to complete a journey which takes me 25minutes on the little moteybike
Oh, and not all is too bad, I have to get up 2hrs earlier for college tommorrow to catch the bus which will get stuck in traffic, and get me into college just on time.
Hmmm, maybe it will be back before My birthday in 2weeks time! ____________________ 05 ZX10R, (**05 WKR) |

Disappointing. Honda electrics used to be the best. They seem to have been going steadily downhill since the CB250N Superdream which had the most bombproof electrical/charging system you could hope for. I don't know why they didn't just fit the same thing to all their bikes, having found something that worked well.
Mate of mine is on the third reg/rec on his VFR. I have told him he can have my spare superdream one if it goes again. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

Still in today, in bits it is. My life now runs around a bus timetable.
They have fitted the new fuel tap/pump. However they said today that it will not tick over correctly, and that they have traced it back to the Carbs.
So with 9 days before I am supposed to have my 400 on the road, will the bus timetable prevent it from being ready? ____________________ 05 ZX10R, (**05 WKR) |
