Not often I find anyone who wants to play and not much point with most bikes. Had fun annihilating a Ferrari F50 last summer, that was amusing Laughing

I normally run it on the road at 300 brake which it happily runs at on Optimax or Ultimate. It will max out at about 400 brake but for that you need race gas which is a bit of a pain in the butt for road use. The swing arm is standard length so 300 is plenty for road use Rolling Eyes

MPG? ferk knows, better than a stock busa if you ride it slow (uh huh) but it probably drops of quite drastically on high boost... Laughing

What boost are you running?

Also, did you build it yourself?

I'm probably going to do something like this over next winter, once I've sold the car, can you give me a bit of info on the bike, ie: what ecu you use, who mapped it, injectors, who made the manifold, turbo model, what your compression is now etc....

Very interested! Also, where abouts you from, would love to see one in the flesh! Smile

Normally run 12 pounds which equates to about 300 brake. Did I build it myself? Ask Mr. C Very Happy

It's using a Velocity Racing stage 2 turbo kit, it uses the stock ECU but piggy-backs an additional Fuel Management Unit which controls 4 more injectors on top of the plenum. Compression is about mid 8's now with cast JE turbo pistons and a base spacer. I mapped it, it also runs a water injection kit to suppress detonation. There was a whole thread of the build on www.200mph.org if you wanna see exact details, dunno if it's still there...

I'm S/W M25 area, Surrey

I guessed you'd be running water, not alot of space for an intercooler!!! It the water also controlled by the piggy back ECU to come when you 'xx' psi?

So I take it the piggy back ecu has no controll over the 4 stock injectors, just chucks in the additional fuel when needed (ie: on boost)?

If you dont mind me asking, what did it set you back, not including the cost of the bike, for everything needed? PM if you dont want to post on the public board.

I'm north on the M25, just next to south mimms, love to have a look at it some time, give me a bit of an idea as to whats involved.

Many people run intercoolers or charge coolers, the MC Express intercooler is slotted to clear the tyre but it's always tight. For an outright drag application you can rake the front end out, but not so good for everyday use.

The water injection set-up is a purpose-built Aquamist Hayabusa system, uses a combination of pressure switches, relays and sensors to inject water at certain boost levels and quantities. Below's a pic of the flow control gauge that's recessed into my dash.

Stock injectors controlled as usual by the stock ECU which has been re-mapped for the lower compression.

About £15k so far for engine/turbo/performance + £3k ish for other stuff + the cost of the bike

Welcome to see it if you like Smile

nice legs Rolling Eyes

yes he built it himself, at the same time as helping two others to build their own

then he blew it up racing it on the wrong fuel

then he rebuilt it himself and remapped it himself

he is a smartarse - look at the airfilter configuration, that required reengineering the whole radiator setup - and the boost gauge in the top of the dash - does that still convert to a air fuel meter on a switch Mike or did I get that wrong

the bike is almost certainly unique and probably the best looking turbo busa in the world

if the words "best looking" and "busa" can be used in the same sentence

yes Dave I'll be at Elvington at the weekend - someone else is loaning me another 12r to have a go at Twisted Evil Confused

I want to see that once you get that 172 running, I want to do a 172 project, but I don't have the time and money at the moment.

As for the Busa, Shocked

Stunning bike and I bet it pulls quite good as well Wink
