Incidently. concerning the removal of the front sprocket on my GSX600F. Can anyone tell me which direction the nut turns to undo? I know it sounds stupid, but i gotta ask. Cheers for your advice.

Always tighten clockwise, always loosen anticlockwise.

Suppose you could say, Right to tight, left to loose.

Whatever you do, dont round it off! Better wait until you've got the right tool for the job that wait for a big repair bill!

TBH, no mate, im not a grease monkey! At a guess I would say try lubing it up with WD40 or simalar and letting it soak in. Make sure you have the right size socket for maximum grip, I think last resort is heating with a blowtorch but check this out with someone more knoledgeable first Wink

Hi there, the sprocket nuts are always a pain in the arse. Unfortunately there is only one way of getting it off without a major headache and that is with an air impact driver running off a compressor. It might be worth your while taking the bike to a local garage and getting them to whizz it off for you.

The last resort of course is to put the bike in gear and take a rather large chisel and hammer to it Shocked you will, of course need a new nut then.

All the best, if you lived near me then I'd help you out..
