Choke won’t stay out!

Bike is a Yamaha SR125. I pull the choke out, and it just pops back in. Bike won’t start without the choke, so I have to hold it out until the bike is warm.

Choke is on the left hand side of the bike.

Any Suggestion will be very helpful.

Thanks!
Smile

I did my a2 on an sr125 and it to needed choke to start. The choke does not stay out on these bikes, so annoyingly you have to hold it out untill the bike is warmed up Thumbs Up

Maybe not on broken ones! Of course the choke is meant to stay out on the SR125.

Sorry, I can;t help with your problem Baller, but I didn't want you getting the wrong advice from ^^.

sounds like the choke assembly on the carb is a bit worn....... Not much that you can do other than buy a new assembly and fit it.

Either that the choke cable is rusted, but if the choke switch moves freely back and forward then it's not rusted and so just do the following;

Remove the left hand assembly switch unit and wrap a layer of insulating tape around the handle bar just under where the choke lever sits and that should help to prevent it from sliding back.
