On the subject of speeding, anyone hear of the senior copper who did over 80MPH in a 40 Zone? He was late for a meeting, so what? He broke the law and he should lose his job.

Well TBH we all break the law and we don't lose our jobs, though saying that as he is a senior copper he should set a good example for the general population! IMO i would be satified to see him getting his points, fines and probibly a demotion.

Yep, a normal punter would be banned for that shit and also, it could be classed as dangerous driving being a 40 zone. 40mph over the limit on the motorway might be acceptable in some folks eyes but not a 40mph road. Good chance of cutting someones life short.

Well, he wasn't driving for a start. A PC was driving and he got 6 points, which was reduced to 3 on appeal. The senior guy has got into trouble as he obviously told the PC to go fast.

Not sure if them losing their job might be a slight over-reaction.
