what happens if you keep riding with a bald tyre (canvas starting to appear in patches on centre)

is there any chance of the tyre falling to pieces or poping !?

how far have you taken a tyre before?

cheers

For Christs sake what a dumb ass question!

The tread is not there to look good. I worry about some people on this site, common sense seems to go out of the window.....

Please tell me you are joking! Rolling Eyes

as above

i assume you are talking about the tire/tires on the bros

what are you doing to wear them down so quickly?

burnouts?

a tire should last for thousands of miles on a bros 400

Its not a bros 400, a CB-1 is a CBR400 without the fairing.

And tyres should last from anywhere between 3,000 and 10,000 miles!

I know a lad with a NC23, he uses BT090's (which are very soft and sticky) he got through a pair in 4000km, and rides quite hard. He's decided to downgrade to a harer compund to save him some money. The only reason i can think of you wearing down your tyres so quickly is because your a very very quick rider and use a very very soft compound tyre. If not then somethings not right with your bike, and seeing as the patches are appearing in the middle, are you doing burnouts?? lots of wheelspins??

i cant help but rag my bike 95% of the time im riding it and often have the rear locking up and weaving when slowing down to approach a roundabout i reckon that takes some rubber of Razz (need a slipper clutch)

yea been using pilot sport tyres, pretty soft compound but only had 2k out of this rear (maybe 2 burnouts - no more)
but tyres are important, and i would rather pay the extra, than get shit ones but lowside it or something stupid.

what i may do is put a harder wearing tyre on the rear.

but yes i have to ride my bike til the end of nxt week when i get paid and can get a new ttyre fitted, cant use the car as gearbox is gone Sad

i can JUST see the canvas appaering in an area of the middle

Lol that's your reason then, burnouts will take a good couple of mm off your tyre, and locking the wheel up under braking will do waay more damage than good. More stess on the chain and sprockets, gearbox, crank too. Can't you blip the throttle as you change down gears avoidng the rear locking up??

The canvas?! Are you suicidal. Learn to use gears and the wheel won't lock up. Thumbs Up

Are you MOTS dodgy? How did you get away with that one?

Don't reckon you'd ever sell a bike to anyone on this forum after reading that.

Tyres are probably the most important thing on a bike on a par with brakes.

I'm stunned. Neutral

Bazza's advanced biking theory:

1. Engines are used to increase speed.

2. Brakes are used to decrease speed.

Any questions?

In much the same way as breathing is important.

Gee, if canvas was the best material for tyres, don't you think they'd make the whole tyre out of the stuff?

Well your tyre will explode or get points on your licence if you are caught by the police.

I change my tyres when they are still within legal limits, it's for my saftey and my licence.

If you are running a bald tyre you are an idiot.

what are you talking about!?? tyre has only been on for one month and has had a couple of rears since the last mot back in the summer Rolling Eyes

yeah i need to learn to blip the throttle effectively but find it hard to match the revs perfectly (used to 2 strokes), but engine braking and front brake are useful together when slowing down quick (i seem to have worked out Question )

A theory is an abstract formulation of the constant relations between entities or, what means the same thing, the necessary regularity in the concatenation (qv) and sequence of phenomena and/or events.

A theory may be true or false.
