So I just picked up a pair of these today. Pretty nice. Thing is, the knee armour seems very low, the top of it not reaching my kneecap when sitting. It can be moved though. Might seem like a silly question but I'm not sure of exactly how it is supposed to sit? It seems to have a slim top section, a slim middle section and a large bottom section. Should the top and middle section curve over the kneecap?

Cheers, Dan

I've been using a pair for about 8 months, and they took me about three attempts to get the armour more or less where I wanted it. Then I cleaned them (only once Shifty I did wash the lining a few times Very Happy ) and forgot where the armour was positioned. Embarassed

So far as I can tell, the top 'D' shaped section wants to be over your kneecap, the middle section more or less on the front of the kneecap and the slender long section below the knee. Then you have to get it in position across the knee to be hopefully in the right place for when you come off. That's the part I've struggled with most.

Still, they're really excellent trousers, it's just a pity I've not got the Devon jacket too yet. Would certainly recommend them. Thumbs Up Having crashed in them several times, all they were lacking in was hip protection; didn't feel a thing otherwise. They do have pockets for hip armour, so I guess it was my fault for being a cheapskate. Laughing

Cool, thanks for that. If this is the case, they have put the armour really low or I have got weird legs Smile They do seem pretty good, surprisingly comfortable. Also I plumped for the grey/blue Devon jacket, which I found even more comfortable than HG's more expensive jackets. Overall pretty chuffed with it!

I bought a pair of Arlen Ness textile trousers at the Ally Pally show this year and I'm having trouble with the knee armour. Most knee armour is shaped like an inverted tear-drop and covers the whole knee when you sit on the bike. Mine is more like a cup, and when I sit on the bike, the armour sits on the top of my knee cap, so the really exposed front part of the knee cap is unprotected.

Bad design, and really annoying. Thumbs Down
