Hiya,

Been choosing a bike to buy, hopefully before donny gp this year, but Iv taken a fancy to the big off road type. Now I know the DRZ400 can be used on road and off road but im looking and very keen on the HONDA XR650R, now can this bike be used on the road? Cheers

They can. Will prob have piss poor lights and a shitty tank range though.

Seen one a while ago, had an acerbis fairing and back reg holder had the light on. The guys only 5 foot 6 and kicking its a bit of a bummer for him (his shocks are really soft so it nearly falls over when he kicks it Shocked

I'm pretty sure most xr650s come in road trim as standard.

Why not yamaha's XT 650. Both new model and the older 600 model are cool, riden them both. Tank range not so good, and a bit heavy for proper off-roading, but fun nonetheless.

The older model is probably a bit more fun. Less polished and a bit rough round the edges, which is probably what you want if you are planning on an off-roader. Key difference between the two is that the old model generally comes as an off-road bike, but the new one generally comes in supermoto trim.
