My first post. WOO HOO....

I've been trying to find a workshop manual for my Honda CB450S (1986-7, twin, looks a lot like the CB350S), but am having a hell of a time trying to find any info at all on this bike. Neither Haynes nor Clymer have manuals for it, or none that are listed on their sites anyway.

This isn't strictly a workshop question, but it's the closest category I could find to the question.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It might be covered in a haynes cb400 manual, they did this with lots of them (my current bike shares the manual with the 650, 600AT, 750AT all of various years...)

One place you could try contacting is oxford classic honda as they might have some information or know where you could find it...

Got any pics?

Thanks for the replies folks.

The trouble is that the cb400's are fours but the cb450s is a twin, so I doubt they'd be in the same manual. Clymer do a cb450 manual, but it's the old cb450 (late 60s - early 70s).

The photo attached isn't my bike (mine's a lot cleaner! Very Happy ) but one I found on google. I've only ever seen one other out and about, and not many more cb350s's, which look very much alike.

If there is anything out there you will find it at the big Stafford Classic Bike Show next weekend (23rd-24th) all the main book and manual dealers are there. Have a day out and a root round the stalls.

A CB450 twin sounds like a predecessor to the CB500 to me. I doubt you'd find the CB500 manual would cover it though with the CB500 being so widespread.

That looks like it?

It's a US grey import? That Clymer is only available from American sites that I can see.

If you go into a Honda dealership they should be able to order you a reprint (or in my case, a photocopy) of the original workshop manual. I think I paid about £6 for mine and it only took a couple of days to get it ordered in. Haynes don't do a manual for my bike either.

According to the frame and log book it's a CB450SG, but only CB450S is written along the sides of the bike.

I've got the original manual that came with the bike, but it only has things like changing the oil, or how to use the helmet lock. Not much help if you wanna overhaul the carbs...

Oh well, on with the search... Sad

Thanks for the replies.

Don't mean to bring up an old thread from the dead but I found this on e-bay (see pic).

It's exactly what I've been looking for but... I can't speak german.

Does anyone recognise the book's publishers from the photo? Maybe if I can find them I can find out if they do an English one.

I don't feel up to learning German though Sad
