A mate posted this on another forum but sounds like it needs BFC support. Some of the blue dye brigade are trying to close Castle Combe. The link below is a petition to prevent it's closure.

https://www.petitiononline.com/306007/petition.html

I know you'll all help out Thumbs Up

Signed. Thumbs Up

And if someone were to hand that petition to Wilshire Council they'd get laughed at, lots. Laughing

I think thinks like "dew", "wouldn';t", decide if Combe is going to have a capital C or not need sorting before the petition is put online.

Please tell your mate to sort his petition out. Smile

I never said that the signatures wouldn't count for anything, I'm just not too sure about how seriously the council would take you if you hand them a petition with some nice typo's in which would say to me "this person isn't very bothered as they've not taken the time to read over their own petition".

Was just pointing out a couple of errors in it, doesn't bother me at all if Castle Combe gets closed or not, I just think that it'd be better presented if it doesn't have errors in it and so would be taken more seriously.

Done. Laughing I hate these assholes who live beside race tracks or buy a house beside a race track then complain about the noise. Just get on with life you knew what you where getting into when you bought the house.

They did the same here and now because of some dodgy dealings with a barrister who bought a house beside Nutts corners race track and complained it is now shut. Funnily enough the rumour is the the people buying the lands barrister is guess who!!!!!. Thumbs Down

(and I agree with Ste - the spelling errors were the first thing I noticed).

As others said, the spelling and grammar need to be sorted.

Do you know the person that started this? I'm sure the collective minds of BCF could come up with something much better.

No. It's my mates local circut but not his petition. Not sure how these things work but cant see him just sending the web page. More likely print all the sigs off and dump them on the local council. Much better effect.

It is important to take the time to get your petition statement just right before you submit and launch the petition online. Hundreds or thousands or even more people will read your petition statement at this site, so all the spell-checking and grammatical editing you can is well worth it. Also keep in mind that a petition cannot be changed after it has been submitted, because any changes would be unfair to people who have already signed the petition.

So it can't be changed, it does sound entirely fair not letting you change a petition though.

I like the way they have left an error in the section telling you to check your document for errors Very Happy

Just out of interest, how much clout do these online petitions have with those involved in the decision making process?
