Hi
I have a sachs xtc125 (2poke) it died today and i couldnt get it goin not even by bumping it. I havn't had a chance to look yet but i suspect that the plug is fouled as last time the same happened and I put a new plug in it worked fine. So I assume it is running rich.
When I bought it I was told that he had put a new bigger carb on but im not sure what size it is. How do I find out?
Also the plug is being fouled therefore it will need rejetting although I don't know where you can get aftermarket jets for the xtc, would they be the same as the dt and tzr as it uses the same engine?
Thanks Adam

If you need anymore info to help just ask Smile

That looks oil fouled. More serious than running rich. Run your finger along the black stuff and see it is oil or petrol. If it is oil then an engine strip is in order. Possible causes are piston rings, bore and other stuff that let oil get past the barrel.

Could that also explain why when I went out on it yesterday (when it died) it was really sluggish and loads of smoke came out of the exhaust like it was cold constantly?? You sure it may need a rebuild as the plug fopuled before I put a new one in and it ran really well?
Forgot to add its definitely oil and not petrol

Hmmm. This is a 2 stroke, sorry. I havn't had much experience with them. Check that your oil/fuel ratio is okay and if that is fine then take the top off and look at the condition of the bore and pistons.

the plug suffer under this too oily mixture . if it is an oil injection system , adjust the oil pump , if you are using petrol-oil mixture reduce your % of oil . the 2 strokes has no ring special for draguing oil as 4 strokes have . oil in the cylinder is needed , but not in the squich chamber . it can be also rings stock on the piston and worn out .
