Oh dear! I have a confession! Embarassed

I done exactly the same when I picked up my KR1S!

Just traded in my RD125 for the KR1S, rush hour traffic outside the bike shop and I'm on my 'just purchased' new bike, sitting in the side road waiting to pull out when a bus slows, flashes for me to pull out. I give it some gentle rev's and pull out, as I lean, rear tyre lets go and I fly off! HIGHLY embarassed I pick the bike up, push it to the side of the road where the guys that work in the bike shop are standing at the window watching!!!!

Anyway, turns out it had a new rear tyre on it that they forgot to tell me about, so it was a little bit 'un-scrubbed!'. Ended up duct-taping the fairing to the tank where it had broken the fairing brackets!

Embarassed

Cant believe I just told you all that!!! Confused Laughing

Do you think he meant to open the throttle like that? There wasn't really anywhere for him to go fast tbh. Confused I don't know whether he was trying to speed off or just slipped. Hmmmm either way, DAYAM!

He tried to speed up as he straightened up after pulling away, i.e. wanted to be flashy by showing how cool his shiney new blade is.. but as he stuck the power on he forgot about the cold tyres, cobbles, inexperience (probably) and the back slid out...

That's what happens when you try to show off Laughing

More than likely it was a case of new bike, new tyres lots of revs and a complete lack of clutch control.

I've known a few poeple do it, they seem to think that because a bike is brand new it's faster and better in every way. In reality the engine, clutch and tyres need to be run in.

And that vid was heartbreaking, poor bloke. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, even if he was being stupid, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
