I am having allot of trouble selecting second, often having to freewheel out of the way of traffic to get the B*strd into gear.

It all happened in one day, got worse from work to home, then in the morning wouldnt select.

If you pull the gear selector up with your hands, you can hear it trying to select, like they are nearly touching (whatever clicks together) and when it does select it pulls the bike forward allot more than other gears....

this is very worrying as you can imagine.. please help.

pete.

Has your bike got a gear lever connected straight to the engine (as opposed to with a linkage rod)?

Has your bike been dropped on the side recently?

Are you trying to change to second from first gear not neutral?

Doesn't sound like it in this situation... but I had a similar problem, but it would change by hand while running on a padock stand); turned out to just be a dirty linkage rod!

Have you tried adjusting the clutch cable possibly to make it tighter as it may have stretched !

On the other hand you may need new clutch plates and/or clutch springs?

The most serious possibility could be within the gearbox itself but do try the first suggestion.

Do check your engine oil level too.
