This may be converse to what I've said previously, as I've only recently learned what these bikes are really like...
...but might you be better off selling this where real bike experts aren't everywhere?

The CBR is a great little bike which does exactly what it is supposed too, sure, it is't as 'big and safe' as a gsxr600, but...it's a 125, and okay, it's not as fast as a 2stroke, but at least it doesn't sound like shit and blow up everytime you change gear..

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cbr125, bar the price, but even thats cheap for a brand new one..

Let me guess. Not had a two stroke? Just a cg of some kind? Rolling Eyes
Apologies to the original poster Embarassed

Shame that. Why don't you see how you feel in the summer, it's only round the corner. The wife will eventually get tired and give up, just let her run her natural course! Wink

Yes, but I've ridden 2 strokes, oh yes, great, you have a bike that does, hm, 85mph/maybe 90? with the risk of blowing up or breaking down, or a cbr125 which will do 75mph reliably as hell, is LOADS cheaper, and you KNOW everytime you go out to the garage it'll work. And no, I'm not biased to 4 strokes because I had one, I'd love an RS or NSR as my CG was stolen, but having ridden the CBR125 I can say its a damn fine bike for what it is meant to do, and the GSXR comment was because some say its too small (much smaller than their sports 6's the horror!) oh no, a learner bike, small? my god..heaven forbid someone might want to start out on a small bike that legally and reliably does 75mph, how many 2t 125s out there are legal and restricted?

As Dianesefreak said, why not try again when the weather's nicer? If you're still not into it, there will probably also be a bit more interest as others are thinking about riding bikes.

I think the problem comes with the fairing and the name.

It suggests that it is a relatively fast sports bike.

While it is infact a fairly slow learner bike.

If it was sold as the cgr125 I would be much happier Smile.

Sorry to continue the thread hijack by the way, but doesn't look like anyone was biting Smile.

Even a 1991 NSR will do 100mph or so derestericted, as should any more recent decent 2 stroke 125. Older ones would do the 80-90mph. They are also reliable if you maintain them regularly. Same with a 4 stroke really, just different forms of maintenance.
