Re-spray

hi ya guys,

After my recent 'off', I was considering re-spraying my dear little ER5.

I was thinking Kawasaki Green! Bearing in mind there's just the tank and a few bits of plastic, would this really cost that much? I'd probably trow a belly pan into the mix too. I've considered doing the donkey work myself, i.e. panel removal, sanding and priming to save a few quid.

Would it look a bit wank, or should I go for it?

Go for it mate, make it look spanking. Getting it all resprayed shouldn't cost too much if all of its in good nick. As soon as scratches and dents come into the picture, they sprayers tend to bump the price up quite a bit. If all the parts are in good condition, you may be looking around the 100-150 mark maybe?

Green would indeed look wank.

In my oppinion your better off going for safer neutral colours like Black, grey, metalic lack, graphite and any combinations of them. If you really wanted green, dark metalic looks quite good.

Tank won't cost the earth to do, and the plastics so long as their not scratched can just be roughed up, primed and sprayed.

Hunt about and see what stickers you want on it and what colour.

At mates rates i could get it done for about £80, professional your probably looking at double that for a single colour job.

I didn't mean go for the green by the way. Black is the way to go, thats a wicked colour on bikes.

Green on an ER5 would indeed look wank.
most good sprayers will still prep the panels even if you have a go at it yourself as they will want to guarentee a god finish and a good finish needs good preperation.
