respray helmet??

just bought the new triumph speed triple in blue after my beloved sv650 was nicked last year.
i had all the matching helmet and leathers, but now just fancy stickin with black. i wanna respray my roof boxer and my arai black. no fancy patterns or anything. is it worth doing this or is it so expensive i might as well buy new helmets? anyone know where i can get this done for a reasonable fee? thanx guys

I reckon you may as well buy a new helmet if you really need to be colour co-ordinated.

If you re spray the helmet you will wear away a lot of protection and the shell will become a lot weaker, therefore if you crash not going to do a lot of good for you.

I would recommend just buying a new black helmet.

do you still have the instructions that came with the arai,as with my new one it said it could be repainted but only to use certain paints...it told you which ones to use.

DO NOT PAINT/SPRAY HELMETS!

It seriously damages the hard gel coat on the outside of the helmet. This outer shell is what lets the helmet slide when you hit the ground. If the helmet grips/doesnt slide enough it will cause serious neck injuries or a broken neck.. Its not worth it is it?

thanx guys. i think i'll just invest in new helmets and ebay the spares. just seen a shoei raid 2 for £199. Mmmm.....
