Hi,

Im not from Halifax but its nearest place to me that does the bike test.

Anyway I told my riding school that i'm doing it in Halifax and I saw genuine shock on their faces.

Apparently it has the stricktest examiner anywhere. The 2 instructors
both live there and they failed their tests there.

Anyone got any Halifax experience?

Suppose it will be good experience.

Hi,

It's my first post here but I've been lurking for a while Shocked .

I passed my test in Halifax last summer and can confirm that the rumors are true. There is an examiner called Robin 'failer' Taylor who has a reputation for being very strict and picky. I was fully expecting him for my bike test, but on the day had someone else for some reason.

Although he has his bike licence, apparently he prefers to follow you round in his car - don't know whether this would work in your favour or against. I didn't even know they could do this until my instructor told me. He also told me to watch out for Failer Taylor guiding me into situations where I could fail.

Let's hope you have someone else for your test, but if you're not that lucky I'm sure he has to pass some people first time! Good luck. Thumbs Up When's the test?

Ohh great, i'd heard simmilar rumours.

Why the ***** did I go to Halifax.

I don't mind failing if im no good, but if I had a major disadvantage from the start, then whats the point.

Think I will try and cancel the test and re-arrange for Bradford.

Cheers

Of course it could just be folklore and rumour! Smile. I didn't have Taylor for my car or bike test so I can't offer any personal judgement on what he's like.

If I were you I would just go ahead with the test, relax and enjoy the ride. If you fail, then re-book at Bradford but don't go into it thinking you are going to fail.

Where abouts do you live?
