If they are offering you insurance and your sure you don't need the theft part, bite their hand off.

theft insurance is worthless unless your bike is worth over £1000, the excess and increased insurance premiums for the next 5 years will cost over this.

personaly i doubt i would consider fully comp unless my bike was worth way over 4 grand and even then it would have to be reasonably priced since a minor off will be cheap to fix and a major will give you other things to worry about.

i wish more peep wud do the maths lol

even with a semi expensive bike say a £1000

£1000
minus excess (£500)
= £500
then minus the difference that u spent between tpo and tpft about £300
means you have to wait 2-3 months after your bike is nicked for what? a cheque worth £300, what the hell will £300 pay for?

my bandit is worth £1500
tpo = £520 tpft = £1100
inagine it gets nicked

£1500 minus excess (£400)
= £1100
minus the diff that i spent extra (call it £500)
= £600 - half the value of the bike!

so as said unless ur bikes worht atleast 2 grand i wouldnt go for tpft and id only get fully comp if it was brand new for a year or 2

yeah but i get offered insurance with no excess and since its garaged in an semi rural area theft insurance on £2000 adds about £100 to the policy.

it is very specific to you how much you are getting quoted but my £1000 was more a general idea of how much extra you'll have to pay in premiums for the next 5 years assuming you plan to ride decent bikes
