Have you checked that the battery is getting charged properly? Just check by putting a voltmeter across the battery terminals when the bike is running, the reading should be 14.5 - 15 V afaik. M's VFR has recently had electrical gremilns which turned out to be the reg/rec again and the problem was intermittent so was only charging some of the time, eventually the reg/rec stopped working altogether causing the lights to dim and the bike to stall when coming to a standstill.

How dead is it?any ignition lights, clicking of the starter?
Have you tested the battery to make sure it's fully charged?I'm not sure whats youre best method of attack but i'd try testing power to the ignition switch/starter button.then power to the starter.
after that i'd try posting in the workshop section there's usually somebody sensible in there.
