Hello, I was told that a wheel from a GSXR 400 would do my RG Wolf (125). It looks the exact same but when I took the tires of them it turned out to be 3cm or so wider. My back wheel is the oringal. Should I hunt out a proper front wheel or stick with the GSXR one? It fits on fine. Will it change any thing, riding wise? Thanks

If the discs, calipers, spindle etc all mate up youll probably be fine, the tyre size change will alter the handling tho.

I'd stick with the proper size wheel, as changing the rim sizes will upset the handling totally and probably would invalidate your insurance if you were to have an accident if thye were to spot the wrong size front wheel.

get real mate Rolling Eyes taking the whole no modifications a bit far, i doubt they will measure every component to the nearest mm LOL

if it goes on fine and everything mates up then shud be fine!

When you apply for insurance one of the questions asks if there are any modifications

Hi

A GSXR400 wheel will be set up for twin disks, so rather obvious. If it is 1" wider then I really would expect it to screw up the handling.

All the best

Was going to say, CraigZZr had a very good point, a close friend had a major accident a couple of years ago and they tried to refuse to pay out because he some alloy look hub caps on his car!

I'm pretty sure that insurance companies have teams of people looking for ways to weasel their ways out of paying claims.

You'd be best off staying with the same size wheel, after all the bike designers spend a lot of time and money ensuring they get good handling out of a bike.
